Dominik Paris (born April 14, 1989) is a World Cup alpine ski racer from northern Italy. Born in Merano, South Tyrol, he specializes in the speed events.
Paris made his World Cup debut in December 2008 and won his first World Cup race in late December 2012 in Italy, a dead-heat tie with Hannes Reichelt in the downhill on the Pista Stelvio at Bormio. Four weeks later, Paris firmly established himself as a top downhill racer on the circuit with a win at Kitzbühel on the classic Streif course, before grabbing the silver madal in the downhill at the 2013 World Championships in Schladming. 2013/14 was a tough season, with only one win in Lake Louise, and a 9th place as second best result. In 2014/15, Paris comes back in shape and after 5 podium placements, he wins his first Super-G race at Kitzbühel on 23 January 2015. In that season, he earned the second place of the final super-g ranking. The following season is even better for the South Tyrolean, as he claims two downhill wins and three podiums in downhill, super-g and alpine combined. Paris even had a chance to win the downhill globe (historical feat for Italy), but a crash in the training run prevented him to ski in his best shape and Paris took 3rd in the final downhill ranking.
