The 3rd Alpine Combined of the season was staged today in Chamonix. Due to challenging weather conditions, the slalom run has been done in the morning, and the athletes went down the famous „Verte des Houches“ downhill in the afternoon.
At least since their podium sweep in Kitzbuehel, the French team is the absolute favourite in the Alpine Combined. And today they kept up with their reputation and took the 3 first spots again. Alexis Pinturault, who is co-leading the Alpine Combined standings with Kjetil Jansrud, was the fastest in the slalom run. He is followed by teammates Thomas Mermillod Blondin (+0.36) and Victor Muffat-Jeandet (+0.37).
Chamonix is the next venue on the men's Audi FIS Ski World Cup schedule, with an Alpine Combined and a Downhill coming up on Friday (AC, 10.30 / 13.00) and Satruday (DH, 12.15). Today was the first chance for the athletes to test out the famous "Vertes des Houches" track they have last skied in 2012.
