Andreas Romar, Andrew Weibrecht move to Head
Finland's best speed racer in history Andreas Romar is changing his ski brand. After 7 years on the World Cup level with Atomic, Romar is happy to have established himself among the top but is now looking for some additional knowledge to push him onto the podium.
"In speed events, the ski technician plays an important role. The closer to the top you are, the more important sufficient resources and seamless cooperation with the ski manufacturer become," said Romar.
So far Romar has not had a personal ski technician but rather the task has been taken care of by his coach Mitja Zupan.
"Competition is so tough that we can no longer afford to make compromises in this area. I need an independent ski technician who can adjust my equipment to optimal settings all year round. And a separate coach who is concentrating on techinique and tactics. Head is offering me a world class ski technician and equipment that will let me keep up with the world's fastest men," added Romar.
Another racer moving to Head is US speed specialist Andrew Weibrecht who is leaving Rossignol to join the Head Rebels: "After twenty great years with Rossignol I've decided to switch it up and move in a different direction. I'd like to thank everyone at Rossi for all the support through the years, it was great to be a part of the Rossignol family. Here's to changing it up!!" commented Weibrecht who also won Olympic bronze on Head in Vancouver in the super-G.
