Another French victory in Åre
Sandrine Aubert (FRA) won Sunday's slalom in Are in front of the Riesch (GER) sisters. Big sister Maria took second while the younger sister Susanne finished third.
In foggy conditions France's Sandrine Aubert gave it all in the second run and swept away the 6/10th sec lead Maria Riesch had after the first run.
Adding another 4/10th to it, the overall time gain in the second run was one second and 5/100. This was Aubert's third slalom victory in the World Cup and the second one in Åre.
"I like the slope and the slope likes me," she explained when asked about the slope.
Susanne Riesch seems to be having a really good season with two fourth positions in the two races this season. With the second fastest time in the second run she advanced from her seventh position in the first run to finish third.
"I am very happy today. I have been fast in summer training but it is hard to get on the podium."
Maria Riesch took over the lead in the overall standings with Lindsey Vonn in second, 20 points behind.
"I am happy with today's results. I went for a safe run in the second run 'cause I didn't want to ski out again. Like yesterday."
"The conditions were tough in the second run with poor visability and the lamps didn't reach down to the slope."
