The need for speed is unbroken for the Austrian downhill / Super-G ladies. Instead of satisfying their cravings on ski, the team switched to mountainbikes and tested the men’s downhill course at the Zwölferkogel in Saalbach-Hinterglemm. The activity was part of a basic endurance training camp that will last until Friday before the team will go in search of snow oversees.

Before the ladies were able to enjoy the Z-Line at the Zwöflerkogel, they had been in the saddle for one and a half hours already, working through their morning bike session. Taking the lift until the middle-station, the ladies around Elisabeth Görgl and Conny Hütter were able to enjoy the wall rides, wooden single trails and steep jumps multiple times.

„It’s possible to take quite many things from this kind of downhill trainings over to our skiing, mainly the concentration and the feel for the speed“, Elisabeth Görgl summed up.
