Blizzard builds large team
Blizzard has embarked on a serious athlete shopping tour this spring: After signing Romed Baumann from Salomon, the company has now announced the addition of several other racers to its World Cup team.
On Friday 4th May, Blizzard/Tecnica Racing Team announced that it had welcome slalom specialist Susanne Riesch from Germany and giant slalom racer Florian Eisath from Italy, who is recovering from a serious crash in the giant slalom in Kranjska Gora that required an operation on his left humerus, whilst confirming that Finland’s slalom junior world champion Santeri Paloniemi will also stay with Blizzard/Tecnica in order to establish himself under the Top 30 of the World Cup slalom racers.
Blizzard also made public that the Czech World Cup athlete Krystof Kryzl (SL, GS, SG) and Andrea Zemanova (SL, GS, SG), who will compete in both European Cup and World Cup races, will ski on its equipment.
Besides Baumann, the Austrian side of the Blizzard team will continue to include Mario Matt and newly also the 21-year-old speed hope Otmar Striedinger (DH, SG).
