Christoph Dreier ends career
The Austrian slalom racer Christoph Dreier has announced retirement from ski racing. “I have trained hard and diligently in the last years. Unfortunately it was no longer enough to make the Austrian team after this season. That is why I have chosen to end my career and concentrate on my family and the ski school in Mayrhofen", said the 31-year-old Salzburg native.
Dreier finished 10th in the slalom Val d`Isere in 2010 which was his best career result. At the World Championships 2011 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen he finished 18th.
“It was a nice time. I really enjoyed all the races. I thank all my supporters for their help and look forward to a new phase in my life", said Christoph Dreier.
„Christoph always had a very professional work ethic. It is too bad that did not always come to bear in his results. I wish him all the best for his private and professional future ", commented the Austria Ski men’s head coach Mathias Berthold.
