Daniela Merighetti finishes World Cup season with leg injury
Italy's Daniela Merighetti suffered a broken leg in the downhill training run at Garmisch-Partenkirchen (GER). The 33-year-old was airlifted to hospital following her crashing into the nets in the bottom section of the course. A spiral fracture of the fibula was diagnosed and Merighetti successfluly underwent surgery on the same afternoon. She is obiously out for the rest the seaon.
Merighetti already suffered a broken jaw in January in Cortina d'Ampezzo and was forced to skip the St. Moritz races but managed to come back on time for the World Championships in Vail-Beaver Creek.
We wish “Dada” a quick recovery and hope to see her back next winter in great shape for some top-class results.
