Didier Défago, the Swiss Olympic Downhill Champion in Vancouver, has signed a sponsoring contract for a further two year period with the Rossignol group, covering Rossignol skis/bindings and Lange boots.

This signing continues the past six years' collaboration between Rossignol and this brilliant athlete, whose exceptional technical and physical capacities are no longer in any doubt. At the age of 33, Didier is considered one of the great stars of the circuit and has undisputed charisma and recognition on an international scale.

Author of a legendary double on the Wengen and Kitzbühel downhill runs last year, the Morgins skier confirmed his remarkable talent by achieving the Olympic gold this winter in the key discipline of downhill ski.

Angelo Maina, Rossignol Group Racing Department Manager:
"The signing of a new sponsoring contract between Rossignol and Didier Défago is a great achievement for our Group. We are delighted at this mark of confidence by such an outstanding athlete, and we shall make every effort to support him and give him the resources he needs to continue to be successful at the highest level."

Didier Défago, Olympic Downhill Champion:
"I am delighted to be extending my contract with Rossignol after achieving my greatest successes with them. My sporting aims remain high for the coming years, so it is very important for me to be able to work in continuity with a technical team in which I have complete faith and which provides me with competitive equipment. I am also envisaging some interesting non-sporting projects with Rossignol that open up other prospects for me."
