Full ACL tear for Tessa Worley
Giant slalom World Champion Tessa Worley sustained a severe knee injury crashing in the first slalom run at Courchevel. She was taken to hospital in Lyon right after the race to undergo an MRI. The medical examinations revealed a full ACL tear and a meniscal lesion in her right knee.
Tessa won't be able to take part in the upcoming Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, next February.
Here’s how The Associated Press described Worley’s crash in Courchevel on Tuesday:
"Tessa Worley toppled backward before twisting forward and landing in the safety netting. She lay still for a few moments before getting slowly back up. She was taken down the slope on a stretcher and to a hospital in Lyon. No further information was immediately available"
We wish Tessa a quick recovery and hope to see her back next winter even stronger.
