Some five months after his severe crash in Chamonix (serious left knee injury), Georg Streitberger is back on skis and snow. Training on the Hintertuxer glacier since Tuesday 28th June 2011, he is preparing for the coming season.

Second in the season super-G rankings in 2010/11, Georg Streitberger commented on his health: "I am feeling well. I have now finished my rehab program and am back to training at full speed. I already participated in some of the conditioning camps and had no problems in training.“

"The first turns were also no problem. I was very focused in the last weeks on returning to snow and that is why I am glad that it worked out so well. I do have some pain but that is normal at this point in time.“

"We are going to return to skiing gates in early August in Zermatt. In Mid-August we'll be travelling to Chile, where I plan to get back to downhill and super-G training.“

"Every season begins at zero. I would like to come back to my form before the injury so that I will see the number 1 come on the scoreboard at some point next season.“

Georg Streitberger was training in Hintertux together with Romed Baumann, Joachim Puchner, Max Franz and Otmar Striedinger.
