Gina Stechert ruled out for rest of season
Last Saturday, January 11, Germany's Gina Stechert injured her left knee in a crash while racing in Zauchensee downhill. The 23-year-old successfluly underwent surgery on Sunday in Münich.
DSV team doctor, Dr. Hermann Mayr, diagnosed a tear of the patellar tendon in her left knee. "The operation went very well," said Dr. Mayr. "Gina Stechert is expected to remain a few days at the hospital before she can start with rehabilitation. Assuming a favorable healing process, Gina could start with ski training again in about six months.”
We wish Gina a quick recovery and hope to see her back next year stronger.
