Grange skips Sölden to return at Levi

The French tech star Jean-Baptiste Grange, who had shoulder surgery on 31st March, has just returned from on-snow training in Tierra del Fuego in Ushuaia. Training together with Anthony Obert, who is recovering from a knee injury, Grange followed a special training program with lots of free skiing and eventually also some gate skiing.

Generally feeling good, however, Grange does feel he is not yet ready for racing: "I still need a little more time to recover from my relatively late operation and get in top shape both physically and skiing-wise. That's why I have decided not to race in the Soelden season opening giant slalom but continue training during the month of October," writes the slalom world champion 2011 in his blog.

"The season will be long, so you'll have to wait until Levi to see me on TV," added the French racer who will take his time in the hopes of a successful return a few weeks later in Finnish Lapland, a feat he has already delivered in the past.
