Herbst new on Fischer
Reinfried Herbst will join the Fischer team in the future. The 33-year-old signed a contract for two years during a visit at the Fischer facilities in upper Austria.
For the Austrian slalom specialist, motivation is one of the main reasons. "I had great success with my previous brand and I will keep those wonderful memories. But now I want to look into the future and find new motivation. That fresh wind will bring me towards my new goals. I have a few left!"
Herbst, who had a recent shoulder operation and will still take it easy for another month, plans to start training again at the end of May including conducting ski testing: "In 1996, my first year in OeSV, I also skied Fischer and now I will conclude my career with them. I am confident that the full package with skis, boots and bindings is perfect for me. I have an especially good feeling with the boots and that does not happen to me normally. I am sure that I will return back to the top with the new equipment.“
Fischer too is very pleased about the newcomer. Fischer Race Chief Siegi Voglreiter says: "He has what it takes to win in slalom. He is an excellent slalom skier with an outstanding technique. I hope that his shoulder injury heals fast. In any case he is very motivated - I like that!“
Herbst previously raced on Blizzard.
