Injury news: Dominique Gisin won't race in Meribel!
Dominique Gisin won’t be at the start of the World Cup races in Méribel this coming weekend. The skier from Engelberg, who broke metacarpal bones of her right hand falling during the downhill race at the World Cup in Schladming, is still not able to use her hand as desired. This was found during a follow-up investigation. Also, the pain is still too high to properly push off at the start.
Dr. Lukas Weisskopf, who led the investigation, said: "It makes more sense if Dominique rest her hand and doesn’t take any risks. In a week, the healing process may be in such an advanced stage that she will be fit to race again at Garmisch."
