Johanna Schnarf injures knee
While waiting to return back home to Italy on Saturday, October 28, to undergo further examinations, speed racer Johanna Schnarf was examined by local doctors at the hospital in Ushuaia who confirmed the initial diagnosis of a sprain in her right knee and suspected ligament injury. The 28-year-old who crashed two days ago during a GS training, will have an MRI at a clinic in Milan on her return to Europe to determine the exact extent of damage.
"It 's a pity that Johanna has been injured," says the Italian ladies head coach Raimund Plancker. "Hopefully she won't be out for too long because we had seen her particularly motivated and in good shape during our summer training. We wish her a rapid recovery and hope to see her back as soon as possible!"
Meanwhile Giulia Gianesini, who returned home early from the camp in South America because of a mild concussion, will undergo an MRI on Friday, September 28th in Milan and will then together with the team doctors decide the timing of her return to competion, which could be as early as at the Audi FIS Ski World Cup Opening in Sölden.
