Kristoffersen leading in Madonna di Campiglio
Madonna di Campiglio is hosting the first Audi FIS Ski World Cup night slalom of the season tonight. Despite the lack of snow in Europe, the organisers have put together a hard and grippy race slope, which allows fair conditions from the first to the 85th racer.
Henrik Kristoffersen is the one that tackled the course the best in the first run. He laid down a very solid run in 47:34 seconds. “I’m in a magical flow, I feel really good on my skis and I’m looking forward to the second run”, said the young Norwegian athlete.
Kristoffersen’s performance becomes even more valuable when compared to the King of Slalom‘s time Marcel Hirscher. The Austrian is +1.03 off the pace in this first run.
In 3rd and 4th place comes the Italian duo Stefano Gross (+1.23) and Giuliano Razzoli (+1.33). The Italians are eager to add a slalom cup victory to their palmarès, especially since the Italian to win slalom in front of the home crowd was already 10 years ago with Giorgio Rocca winning here in Madonna di Campiglio.
This race marks the end of the pre-Christmas “Italian Block”. After this race, the withe circus will enjoy a 4 days’ break and go back to Santa Caterina for two training runs and a downhill on 27th-29th December 2015.
