Marcel Hirscher sidelined for six weeks
This morning, during his first on-snow training of the season, Marcel Hirscher sustained a fracture on the lateral malleolus of his left ankle. He straddled a slalom gate on the Mölltaler Glacier and crashed, which caused the injury. The Overall World Cup champion was brought to the University Hospital in Salzburg by helicopter, where the fracture has been diagnosed. At this point, no surgery is required, but Hirscher will be in a cast for the next six weeks.
