Miller against Jaerbyn at the Ski & Golf World Championships

16 May 2011 14:27

It was a top-class starter field again this time at the Ski & Golf World Championships in Zell am See, which took place from 11-15 May 2011. Bode Miller, who is almost as good a golf player as he is fast on skis, wanted to defend his title but the former World Cup ski racer from Sweden Patrik Järbyn put a spoke in his wheel.

Bode Miller was one of the stars at this year’s three days spectacle in Salzburg but he was not the only one. The list of participants included a whole range of names of current and former top skiers. The American won even two titles last year, one in the ‚Pro-ranking‘ and the other one in the team event with his Team Kitzbühel. This year everything was different and Patrik Jaerbyn stole Miller the show who only finished in twelfth place overall.

The 41-year-old Swede took part for the first time in this traditional event and was in third place after the giant slalom before he played two impressive rounds of golf which put him in the top spot of the Ski & Golf World Championships 2011.

Miller, who was seen smoking a cigar on the golf course, managed to at least win gold in the team ranking as a member of the team Kitzbuehel.
