Swiss World Cup speed specialist Nadja Jnglin-Kamer is the latest team member to suffer an injury which will delay her preparation for the 2014-15 season.

Just a week after Joana Haehlen and Reto Schmidiger left the training camp in Ushuaia, Argentina early, Jnglin-Kamer suffered an injury in her right knee during a giant slalom session and returned to Zurich. Dr. Sandro Fucentese diagnosed cartilage damage in the knee which will be treated with rest and rehabilitation before surgery is considered.

Swiss-Ski doctor Walter O. Frey is unable to predict a precise return date for the athlete.

“It is always difficult to say what the healing process will be with a cartilage injury. But she certainly cannot ski for two to three months. Whether surgery will be necessary will depend on the course of rehabilitation,” said Frey.

Jnglin-Kamer will undergo an intensive rehabilitation program with the hopes of returning to competition this coming winter.

“I do not know what I am in for and how long it goes. I just have to wait and see. That makes this injury pretty tedious,” noted Jnglin-Kamer.
