This morning HEAD announced that one of the most exciting Slalom skiers of the last few years, Andre Myhrer (2012 World Cup Slalom Champion) has decided to join the HEAD World Cup Rebels team for the forthcoming seasons.

Andre Myhrer who has been competing on Nordica equipement for the past 14 years, has been successful in both slalom and giant and sees the successful development of the HEAD range of skis, boots and bindings as the stepping-stone that his career needed for further success on the World Cup tour.

Johan Eliasch, CEO of HEAD, commented: “With Andre we have a strong addition to our team who we are sure will help bring us more victories in the technical disciplines, especially in slalom. I am very pleased to have Andre on board.”

Myhrer commented about signing for HEAD: “After 14 years together with Nordica I've decided to change brand and I'm joining the Head family. Head is a very professional company, tests have been very positive and I can't wait to start working with this new setup. It's been a blast with many great moments and I'd like to thank all great people that I got to work with during the past 14 years. But now I'm looking forward, new goals, new possibilities. HEAD is a very professional company, the number one in the world. They are world leading in all the disciplines except slalom, but that's something that I am planning to change. I am proud to be a part of the Head family and really looking forward to get back to work after my rehab period," Myhrer commented about signing for HEAD.

HEAD World Cup Rebels Team Manager, Rainer Salzgeber added: "It is a dream to have an absolute slalom star in our team with Andre. I hope, with him, to create the basis to celebrate such successes in slalom as in all other disciplines."

With Myhrer looking to add to his five World Cup wins plus the 2012 Slalom Globe, the HEAD brand will soon be challenging the World Cup podium again.
