At the first-ever Oslo city event and the first World Cup to be held in Norway's capital since 1984, American Mikaela Shiffrin and Sweden's Andre Myhrer outdueled their rivals through multiple heats to claim victory in front of nearly 7,300 fans at the famed Holmenkollen arena.

In the ladies' final, Shiffrin narrowly edged out Switzerland's Wendy Holdener who ultimately took second place. Holdener was joined by her teammate Melanie Meillard in third who claimed the first podium of her career at age 19.

The men's final pitted Austrian Michael Matt against Myhrer, who had three previous podiums in city event races. Matt slid out while chasing down Myhrer on the final run, handing victory to the Swede who later revealed that his grandfather was Norwegian and he felt his presence in the acclaimed ski venue. Germany's Linus Strasser rounded out the podium in third place.

The ladies' and men's tours both move on to slalom races in Zagreb, Croatia, later this week.
