New ladies' race program in Bad Kleinkirchheim
A strong weather system of rain that swept through Bad Kleinkirchheim ahead of the World Cup's arrival this week negatively impacted the race slope, and it has taken several days of hard work to create a surface that can be used for a full-length speed event.
Thursday's training run was cancelled due to the aforementioned course conditions. On Friday morning, it was evident that athletes could not complete a training run to the finish due to the snow conditions on the lower portion of the track. As such, the ladies ran from the top of the course to the super-G start in a shortened downhill training run. Christina Ager of Austria posted the fastest time of the day on this short sprint.
On Saturday, the ladies will contest the super-G starting at 10:45 CET. If all goes according to plan, another downhill training run from the reserve start to the finish is scheduled for Saturday starting at 14:00 CET. The downhill race has been rescheduled for Sunday at 11:15 CET.
