After the 26-year-old Patrick Kueng suffered a concussion in a crash in the super G training in Saalbach-Hinterglemm (Austria) on Thursday, January 6, it was at first not clear if he will be able to ski in this week-end's Lauberhorn downhill race.

As it has turned out, Kueng will not be at the start in Wengen as his recovery did not occur fast enough. He was re-examined on Tuesday in Bad Ragaz by the team doctor Christian Schlegel. The healing process does not allow a return to the World Cup earlier than next week in Kitzbuhel (Austria).

Patrick Kueng now puts his focus on a speedy recovery and the subsequent races.

The racer from Glarus celebrated his second best World Cup result at the end of December 2010 in the Bormio downhill (ITA) where he finished fourth.
