The 2009-10 Slalom World Cup Champion signs another two-year contract with the traditional brands BLIZZARD and TECNICA.

"We are proud that we have Reini – one of the best Austrian slalom athletes – back in our camp for another two years," commented an excited Thomas Zettler, Blizzard's director of Sales and Marketing. Herbst extended his contract at Blizzard’s headquarters in Mittersill, Austria, on April 7, 2011. Sitting together with Zettler and Blizzard’s racing director Bernhard Knauss, Herbst was quite optimistic about the next two years. "My equipment from Blizzard and Tecnica is perfect for me. With the amazing support that I receive from this team, I’ll be able to continue competing with the world’s elite into the future, and reward the faith that’s been invested in me with top results again." The good cooperation between team and racer was a decisive factor in extending the contract. Knauss also emphasized that Blizzard and Tecnica would do everything to continue developing top products, allowing every possibility for continued success on the racing circuit.

While at the Mittersill headquarters – where high-tech skis are both developed and produced – Reini took some time after his re-signing to visit the factory and to thank the production team for their past support. As an “approachable ski star" 'Reini' signed autographs and took pictures with co-workers. As a native of Salzburg, Herbst feels a special connection with the ski factory in Mittersill. For the coming season Blizzard and Tecnica is counting on the top trio consisting of Reinfried Herbst, two-time World Champion Mario Matt and Christoph Nösig. "We are amongst the world's elite, and next winter we want to prove ourselves worthy," said racing director Bernhard Knauss, full of expectation for the coming season.
