Season over and no World Championships for Johan Clarey
Just two days before he was scheduled to compete in the Super G race at the World Championships in Schladming, the French Ski Federation announced that Johan Clarey would not be able to participate in the event. The French speed specialist had been suffering from an acute back pain in the past two days and after an evaluation made by Dr. Fier, a neurosurgeon at Lyon it became obvious that due to the extent of the injury would unable the skier to be ready for the World Championships. In fact, a first prognosis suggests that it will take about three months for Clarey to fully recover. The French Ski Federation has named Gauthier De Tessières as Clarey’s replacement in the Super G race on Wednesday.
We wish him a speedy recovery!
