5 summer questions to Patrik Järbyn

29 June 2011 22:48

The World Cup racers have different ways of spending the summer. Patrik Järbyn is one of the veterans on the Tour.

1. What are the best and worst parts of your summer?

Returning 'home' to Scandinavia in the summer and meeting my Swedish friends. Sweden is simply the world's BEST COUNTRY. The worst part is that I have to leave Sweden in August.

2. How is your training program before the winter?

I train 2-3 times a day. I get up at 04.30 and go to the gym. Then I take a little ride before our sons wake up and return home to sit on the couch to see them come down the stairs to tell them a good morning.  Priceless!!!! Then I drive them to school and take another round on my bike, eat lunch, and then maybe another ride in the afternoon.

That is how it looks in the spring and summer. 19th August until 6 September I am going to Zermatt and then to the USA in September. In October we are going to Stubai/Sölden to train and test, and then in November I will be training with the US team in Vail/Copper Mountain. After that it is time to get ready to race at Lake Louise.

3. What are your summer highlights?

The first one will be the Golf in Stenungsund on 8th-10th July and then sitting in Haraldsholmen in Norway to watch the sunset with my wife on a 20C evening maybe with a glass of wine in my hand.

4. What are you most looking forward to next winter?

To doing my best in each race to win.

5. In conclusion, your 4 best:

…summer beats: either Gyllene Tider or Tomas Ledin. It's summer!!!

...beach: Haraldsholmen

...grill food: Grilled salmon

...summer read: This year it will be Henning Mankell: The Troubled Man
