While most people are still enjoying late summer weather, our FIS alpine athletes started their search for the white gold and good training conditions. European glaciers offer good options, but at this time of the year, lots of teams prefer to travel to the “end of the world” to complete their summer preparation. Chile, Argentina and New Zealand are the favourite destinations; a perfect occasion for us to discover those corners of paradise.

Austrian Ski Team

Different teams, different training options for the Austrian ski teams. While the ladies tech teams are training New Zealdand (Wanaka and in Cardrona), the speed girls are training in Saas-Fee (SUI). On the men’s side, Chile is hosting the speed crew and New Zealand is the preferred destination of the tech boys.

Canadian Ski Team

The Canadian ladies are already back from training camp in Ushuaia.

After their camp in Zermatt (SUI), the Canadian cowboys are also heading south to Valle Nevado (Chile).

French Ski Team

Chile (La Parva) is the preferred destination of the French speed team, while the very strong tech team is training in Argentina (Tierra des Fuego).

On the ladies’ side, there has been no overseas training yet. Globe winner Tessa Worley has been spotted in Saas Fee.

German Ski Team

Future father Felix Neureuther and his team chose Lake Tekapo in New Zealand for their training.

Andi Sander and the German speed boys are in La Parva to perfect their downhill skills.

The German ladies have been training in Saas-Fee (SUI).

Italian Ski Team

So far, only the slalom men’s tech team has travelled to the southern hemisphere for their annual training camp in Cerro Castor (Argentina).

Peter Fill & Co, as well as the ladies’ teams around Sofia Goggia, Marta Bassino and Federica Brignone have been training in beautiful Zermat (SUI).

Norwegian Ski Team

Nothing better than home snow. The full Norwegian team, including super-g globe winner Kjetil Jansurd, has been training in Folgefonna beginning of August.

Now, the tech athletes (ladies and men) are training at the Lake Tekapo in New Zealand.

Slovenian Ski Team

The Slovenian men's tech team found perfect winter conditions in Argentina (Cerro Castor and Ushuaia).

Speed skiers like Ilka Stuhec and Bostjan Kline preferred Chile. They are currently training in El Colorado and in La Parva.

Swedish Ski Team

After kicking off the ski training season in Switzerland, the Swedish athletes headed to New Zealand (Treble Cone and Coronet Peak) for a training camp including some racing appointments, like the New Zealand Games, where André Myhrer won the parallel race.

Swiss Ski Team

The Swiss Ski Teams split between three continents. South America is hosting the ladies’ teams, with the tech girls training in Ushuaia, Argentina, close the speed ladies who are spending their training camp in La Parva (Chile).

The men on the other site, travelled to Coronet Peak (New Zealand), while the speed team will stay in Europe to mainly train on the home glaciers Saas-Fee and Zermatt.

US Ski Team

Up to the men’s speed team, who is training in La Parva (Chile), the American teams found great conditions in New Zealand (Coronet Peak, Lake Ohau, Roundhill Ski Area).
