Summer time is inspection time
Like with teams and athletes, the foundation for a successful winter are made in the summer. One part of the preparation for the races is the official FIS inspection that takes place at almost every World Cup venue.
FIS officials, local organisers, tv producers and marketing agencies inspect the slope together, from top to bottom, discussing safety matters, course set, camera positions and other technical requirements. After this visit, the different operational aspects are revised with a detailed check-list, to ensure that everything is ready for the event in winter.
