The magic figure 100
The Organising Committee of the FIS World Ski Championships St.Moritz 2017 is ready to rumble:
100 days until the kick-off to the big ski party in St. Moritz, which will electrify the entire Engadine. With 100 Volt? No, it’s rather hundreds of thousands because the pleasant anticipation for the Ski World Championships is perceptible all over. Talks with fans and volunteers as well as the incredible feedback on their Facebook photo contest underline this:
100 days to go. The organizer’s anticipation is getting bigger and bigger every day. As of now, the countdown is double-digit only. And there is still a lot to be done, after all; the World Championships will not only be an unalloyed party but also a huge logistic challenge for all the involved parties. However, we will not let ourselves become intimidated because we are the World Champions when it comes to tackling new challenges and so far everything is going according to schedule. This statement in particular shows the progress in terms of temporary constructions in the finish area of Salastrains. More than 120 containers were positioned and the impressive stand structure made of steel pipes is ready for 5,000 ski fans.
100 days. These days, the weather has shown that winter is around the corner, also in the lowlands. At Kulm Park, where the opening ceremony of the World Championships will take place on 6 February 2017, at the party mile in the town’s center and in the race area up on Corviglia, the coming weeks will be spent making fine tuning. 100 ideas, at least, are born day by day in order to make everything better.
The countdown is on! What would have been a better match than Lara Gut’s win at the season opening in Sölden? For that win, she has received exactly 100 Points.
