As summer goes on, more athletes chose to end their career as professional ski racers and announce their retirement. It’s not an easy choice to make, but the end of something is always the beginning of something new, so we wish them all the best in their new activities. Here is an update to the lists published on April 15th (click here) and May 31st (click here):

Axel Baeck (SWE, 87)
The Swedish slalom specialist announced his retirement of professional skiing at the beginning of April. Looking back on his 66 World Cup starts, Axel Baeck’s best season will indubitably be the winter 2010/11, where he claimed his one and only World Cup podium (a 2nd place in the slalom in Kranjska Gora) and his best discipline ranking in slalom (14th). In total, the 28 year old racer grabbed 9 Top 10 results and could represent his country at two Olympic Winter Games and one World Championships.
