Verbier High Five by Carlsberg - a fistful of champions

26 March 2010 12:44

Every year since 1999 the Verbier High Five has celebrated the end of the ski season for pros, amateurs and media alike; and this year is no exception. On Saturday 27th March 2010, 16 of the world's best pro-skiers will come to Verbier to compete and party with about 350 participating amateur skiers.

The pro-skiers who will be joining us this year represent 9 Olympic medals from Vancouver 2010 and, when all our skiers' career medals are accumulated, we reach a staggering 29 Olympic and World Championship medals - providing an opportunity not to be missed by the media, who will be able to meet and interview those skiers who have been so difficult to access during such a high-pressure season:

Didier Défago (SUI)

Aksel Lund Svindal (NOR)

Didier Cuche (SUI)

Andre Myhrer (SWE)

William Besse (SUI)

Luc Alphand (FRA)

Marco Buechel (LIE)

Manuel Osborne Paradis (CAN)

Julia Mancuso (USA)

Tina Maze (SLO)

Fanny Chmelar (GER)

Chemmy Alcott (GBR)

Jessica Lindell Vikarby (SWE)

Sandrine Aubert (FRA)

Catherine Borghi (SUI)

Karin Roten (SUI)

The Verbier High Five by Carlsberg is a sport and leisure lifestyle event which is open to all skiers and snowboarders, male & female, but subject to a minimum age of 18 years. There are 5 disciplines, the first four of which (GS, Speed Monster, Skier-cross and Triathlon) decide the overall winners. The racing concludes with the Team Parallel Slalom, which pairs the Pros with the best amateurs.

The High Five celebration starts in Verbier on Friday 26th at 16hr with an Opening Party at which the Pros will be introduced and start numbers drawn. The racing takes place on Saturday between Les Attelas and Les Ruinettes between 10hr - 16hr on Saturday and will be supported by great music and entertainment at the Chalet Carlsberg for the participants, media and spectators. Awards will be presented at 16hr and the day wraps up in Verbier with probably the best after-ski party in the world.
