Norway's Finn Hagen Krogh has won the 10 km free technique stage 6 competiton of the FIS Tour de Ski in Toblach, Italy. Krogh managed to hold off overall Tour leader Martin Johnsrud Sundby (NOR) by just +3.6 for the win.
Charlotte Kalla has won five World Cup races in freestyle races over 5 or 10km, including World Championships and Olympic Games, Kalla has won seven times (all on 10km freestyle). This is most of all active athletes this season.
In just 10 days the Viessmann FIS Tour de Ski performance by Craft Sportswear gets under way already for the 10th time. With mild weather across Europe all organizing committees are working hard to ensure the best conditions for this season’s highlight event.
In the last five seasons (since the start of 2010/2011 season) a total of 25 World Cup races have been held in 10km classic style. Justyna Kowalczyk has won more than half of these races (13). Marit Bjørgen has eight wins, while Therese Johaug has three wins.
This season, no active skier has more than two World Cup career wins in sprint freestyle. One from Østberg, Maiken Caspersen Falla, Ida Ingemarsdotter and Vesna Fabjan could become the seventh athlete to win at least three races. Marit Bjørgen (24), Kikkan Randall (12), Bente Skari (8), Arianna Follis (6), Petra Majdic (6) and Pirjo Muranen (4) are the six athletes with more than two career wins.
The World Cup stages in Ruka, Lillehammer and Davos are history - now the focus of the international cross-country skiing circus focuses solely on Toblach.
