Aino Kaisa Saarinen became queen of the World Championships in Liberec two years ago. In Oslo 2011 she is to take part in the first race on Saturday.

Aino Kaisa Saarinen went skiing on Monday to test the World Champs tracks and stated that the course for her main event 10 km Classic is truly Norwegian with skiable uphills and is overall very nice.

Finnish medal hope and queen of the World Championships 2009 Aino Kaisa Saarinen will enter the World Championships on Saturday in 15 km Pursuit. “I decided to drop sprint on Thursday because I want to focus on pursuit and 10 km,” revealed Saarinen on her web page. Saarinen had struggled with shoulder injury in the beginning of the season and then had problems with classical technique. After high altitude training in Seiser Alm and especially third place in Drammen Saarinen gained confidence before the World Championships.

Two years ago Saarinen captured gold medal in 10 km Classic, Team Sprint Classic and was the anchor of the gold Finish relay. Above three gold medals she took bronze medal in 15 km Pursuit.
