Eirik Brandsdal sits out sprint in Rybinsk

Nowegian sprint team charge for tomorrow's sprint in Rybinsk but Eirik Brandsdal will not be at the start.

"Eirik got cold during the Championship in Steinkjer. In consultation with a doctor Ellen Moen, we have therefore decided that Eirik is not going to Russia. He must be 100 percent healthy before he will compete again, "said national coach Ulf Morten Aune.

Norwegian sprint squad in Russia consists of John Kristian Dahl, Johan Kjølstad, Øystein Pettersen and Anders Gløersen. they will compete for two last vacant seats for the sprint at World Championships on Holmenkollen.

 "All sprinters are fresh and fast. We look forward to Saturday's race, "said Aune.

Brandsdal has been in phenomenal sprint shape since January. In Otepää he went to the top and he did the same on Sunday in Steinkjer at the Norwegian championship.  24-year-old is one of several sprinters who can take a medal at the World Championships in Holmenkollen.
