On Monday 27th January at 20:45, the FIS Nordic Junior & Under 23 World Ski Championships got under way with an Opening ceremony in Predazzo main square in Val di Fiemme (ITA).

More than 650 athletes from all around the world gathered in the Dolomites and paraded last night at the official opening ceremony in Predazzo main square.

The Ski Jumping Stadium will award the first medal of the Championshipstoday at 5pm as junior ski jumpers have the honour to declare the Championships open.

On Wednesday at 10:00 CET it will be Cross-Country skiers’ turn as both Juniors and U23 athletes will fight for medals in free technique sprints in Lago di Tesero.

Thursday will be packed with action as events in all Nordic disciplines are scheduled, starting at 8.45 with the Women’s team SJ HS 106, followed by both U23 Cross-Country 10km and 15km Classic, Nordic Combined (HS 106 – 10k) at 11.30am and Men’s team SJ HS 106 at 6pm.

On Friday, juniors will take over with skiathlon events. On the weekend the competition program continues with U23 skiathlon on Saturday and individual start 5 km C junior ladies and 10 km C junior men on Sunday. The FIS Nordic Junior World Ski Championships will come to an end on Monday, 3rd February and traditional relay competitions.

All FIS Nordic Junior&U23 World Ski Championships events in Val di Fiemme will be broadcast live and delayed on Rai Sport national channels and internationally on SVT, Eurosport, NRK, WCSN and JSNA.
