It was a Nowergian podium again today but with a few new faces to a distance World Cup podium this season.  Anders Gloeersen recorded his first ever World Cup distance win in the 15 km F in Davos.  His winning time of 34:27.9 was enough for a 4.8 second lead over Petter Northug Jr.  For Northug it was his first distance podium of the year following up on a second place finish in the classic sprint in Ruka.  In third was Chris Andre Jespersen +10.4.  It was his first podium of the year.

Gloeersen started with bib #15 and sat in the leader's waiting while 66 other bibs still need to cross the line before it was official that he had won.  World Cup Overall leader was the day's final starter and settled for 6th place at the finish.

Like the ladies' competition earlier in the day more countries are beginning to fill in the top 10.  Four other nations (Sweden, France, Russia, Switzerland) joined Norway in the top grouping that was separated by just 17.1 seconds from 1st - 10th.

When I saw Martin Sundby behind me after 12.8 km I started to believe I could win. I knew I had a very good final part of the competition. I have been trainining for 15 km free technique. This is my first victory in a distance competition and it means a lot for me.

Petter Northug, NOR
I did not feel that good today and I did not think I was fighting for podium. My plan was to keep the high pace from the highest point to the stadium. I felt I had some power left after the two first laps. I had very good last 3 km.

Chris Andre Jespersen, NOR
I’m really satisfied with the third place but I was hoping for more. I have never had a good feeling in such a high altitude. The whole race was quite good for me but the last 2 km were really difficult.
