On Sunday Hanna Brodin scored her first World Cup podium and sprinted to sensational second place being beaten only Petra Majdic. Now she is back and will fight for medals at the U23 World Championships in Otepää.

Falun girl has decided to take part in the initial U23 race over 10 km Free and in Saturday’s sprint Classic. “I’m also entered for the double pursuit but it is likely that I skip it,” said Brodin to langd.se. Brodin will be among top medal favorites in sprint. Same course, same technique but no Petra Majdic.

“The course will be the same as on Sunday and it suits me very well,” said Brodin. Last year at the Junior World Championships in Hinterzaren Brodin became Junior World Champion in Sprint Free. First day after her sensational victory Brodin was recovering from the tough World Cup program.

“Yesterday, I was tired and slept late. I have received a lot of congratulations after this weekend, quoted Brodin.
Only a few doubt that Hanna Brodin will win a medal at the U23 World Championships. It is uncertain if it will be already in Thursday’s 10 km Free but on Saturday in Sprint Classic, Brodin is the top favorite.
