Therese Johaug of Norway fought back today in the battle for the World Cup Overall title with her win in the 15 km Skiathlon in Falun.  Johaug pulled away on the second lap of 3.75 km on the classic technique portion of the Skiathlon from teammate Marit Bjoergen and collected all bonus seconds possible.  In the end she won by +33.6 seconds over Bjoergen and +56.6 second over Kerttu Niskanen of Finland.

Johaug now leads the World Cup Finals mini-tour by 15 seconds over Bjoergen heading into tomorrow's 10 km pursuit start free technique competition.  She also increased her lead to 7 points in the overall World Cup standings.  It will all come down to who wins tomorrow between Johaug and Bjoergen for the overall title.  Niskanen will start +1.17.3 behind Johaug as the third starter in the pursuit.
