Junior World Champion Stina Nilsson in Sweden’s squad for Lahti

Junior Sprint World Champion and silver medalist from the relay in Erzurum Stina Nilsson got a ticket for the FIS Cross-Country World Cup in Lahti.

Sweden’s line up is featuring 34 skiers that will be competition in Saturday’s skiathlon and classical sprint on Sunday.

Talented 18-year old Stina Nilsson of Malungs SF got a chance to compete with the World’s best Cross-Country skiers. “Stina is promising young girl, that showed her skills already on the Scandinavian Cup. We wanted her to be focused on the Junior Worlds at first place. She tackled the challenge and we want to give her a chance to compete with elite sprinters in Lahti,” Rikard Grip explained.

Nilsson is not the only young Sweden's talent to compete in Lahti. Emma Wiken stormed to silver medal in the U23 free technique sprint and grabbed claimed bronze medal in 7.5 km C + 7.5 km F skiathlon. Coaches Joakim Abrahamsson and Rikard Grip lined up Wiken for Lahti and have selected following athletes to be competing in Finland.
