ATHLETE QUOTES

Justyna Kowalczyk (POL)

I’m pretty satisfied. Normally my shape is up and down in the beginning of the season. The track was very technical and very hard. I didn't want to start too hard, but after three kilometres I was almost dead. I was surprised by Charlotte Kalla. She has been in a very good shape.

Charlotte Kalla (SWE)

I am very happy with the competition. The most important thing is to be in good shape, then it doesn’t matter for me if it’s classic or free technique. I felt very good today, my classic was good and I felt so good go hard. I tried to keep focused in the fast downhills.

Marit Bjørgen (NOR)

I am very happy with the third place today. My body wasn’t there, but I fought very hard all the way. I heard I was competing for the third place against Therese. I was pushing hard toward the end of the competition. I am hoping for a better shape next week. The track was fast and hard but not as hard as I expected.
