Marit Bjoergen and Robin Bryntesson win sprint qualifier in Liberec

Marit Bjoergen has not lost any of her speed and strength and won the sprint qualifier in Liberec. On the men's side Robin Bryntesson sealed qualification victory.

Rainy and windy Liberec saw a clear victory of the Norwegian ace. Bjoergen edged out runner up Hanna Falk by +3.91 sec. Kikkan Randall has recovered very fast from Tour de Ski and shines again in Liberec by scoring third best time.

Newly grown beard brought luck to Sweden's sprint specialist Robin Bryntesson. The Swede qualified with fastest time of 3:01.07. Johan Kjoelstad was only by +0.13 sec slower and will wear bib 2 in the quarter final. Sweden's success was rounded out by tall Jesper Modin who claimed third fastest time in the qualifying session. Defending champion from 2009 Ola Vigen Hattestad lost on Bryntesson +2.38 sec and scored 10th fastest time. Younger brother of Petter Northug, Thomas Northug did well today and made it to quarter final with 22nd best time.
