Matti Heikkinen moves to Oslo to train with Norwegians
World Champion from 2011 Matti Heikkinen has moved to Oslo to train with Norwegian skiers and prepare for the home World Championships in Lahti.
After problems with his back before the last season, Matti Heikkinen ended the FIS Cross-Country World Cup 2015/16 a podium and a victory in Canmore, first since 2011. Heikkinen believes he is on the right way and is one of the biggest medal hopes at the home World Championships next year.
In order to be prepared in the best possible way, Heikkinen decided to move to Oslo to train with Norwegian skiers.
“Norway has the world's best cross-country skiing national team. Everybody only speculate about what they train. Therefore, it is good to come here and train with them. I do not need to speculate anymore, what they are doing. Now, I know,” Heikkinen said to NRK.
