First pure sprint weekend of the season in Düsseldorf will be feturing 15 Norwegian Cross-Country skiers.

World's best Cross-Country sprinters will gather at the bank of river Rhine to fight in individual free sprint on Saturday and in team sprint free on Sunday. There are seven ladies and eight men lined up for team Norway in Düsseldorf.

"This is the first pure sprint weekend of the new season. We hope to carry on the momentum from first races we've had so far this season. We've sent a good squad to Germany. I'm sure our sprinter will deliver good performance in Düsseldorf," Vidar Løfshus the sport chief said.

The distance teams are travelling to Davos on Friday to carry out high altitude training camp before Tour de Ski. Petter Northug, Marit Bjoergen and Co. will be training in the height for two weeks. They will not return home until the last World Cup before Christmas in Rogla.
