From 24th-27th September, the world’s top roller skiers and many Cross-Country skiers gathered in Val di Fiemme (ITA) for the FIS Rollerski World Championships which featured competitions in uphill, sprint, team sprint and long distance.

Sweden was the most successful nation with nine medals (three gold, three silver, three bronze) ahead of host Italy with eight (2,4,2) and Russia with five (2,1,2).

The Championships were also a success in terms of audience with hundreds of spectators lining the tracks and the event being broadcast by Rai Sport 1, Eurosport, NRK and SVT.

The competitions in Val di Fiemme also represented the last stage of the FIS Rollerski World Cup 2015. The competitions were dominated by Sweden in both the ladies’ and men’s categories as Linn Soemskar and Robin Norum took the overall titles. In the junior category, first places went to Olga Letucheva (RUS) and Marcus Fredriksson (SWE).
