Kristin Stoermer Steira has been fighting with injuries this off season. In spring a fatigue fracture was discovered, which prevented her from taking part in European athletics championships and sent her to special workouts. On September 16 she was at a medical check up that revealed another fracture and prolonged special training period.

Despite all the problems and complications Kristin Steira's teammates believe she will be stronger than ever in upcoming season. "She has been outrageously strong" they say unanimously. When they were carrying out high altitude training sessions in Italy and were skiing on first snow Steira carried out strength workouts. "The thing about getting injured often ends up with something positive, because you are then forced to train differently"said Vibeke Skofterud to nrksport.no. Skofterud hes a comeback experience herself as she managed to return to the ladies A team after having trained outside the top squad for one year.

Norway's Cross-Country queen Marit Bjoergen believes without any doubts that Steira will become stronger than ever and will profit from training she did in previous years. "When she utilizes all the months left before the World Champs as best as possible, she will be fine" quoted Bjoergen to nrksport.no.
