Martin Johnsrud Sundby took a clear victory in Sunday's race in Beitostoelen over 15 km Classic.

Sundby claimed first place with a clear margin of +23.5 sec over runner up Eldar RoenningEirik Kurland Olsen impressed with the third place, and his teammate from Team Manpower, Sjur Røthe, finished fourth.

Sundby decided to go full throttle right from the start and try to keep up the pace. "It was a hell from start to finish. I had decided to run hard, "said Martin Johnsrud Sundby to langrenn.com.

Hjelmeset not fast enough

Odd-Bjoern Hjelmeset had to perform really well to persuade the Norwegian Ski Association management he deserved a spot in the National team and a ticket to Oslo 2011. However, he finished 7th +1:09.0 min behind Sundby and only +1.2 in front of sprinter Pettersen. Situation gets thus complicated for Hjelmeset. Classic technique specialist has the only chance to race at World Champs in 15 km Classic Individual. He might get next chance to present himself in Davos or Otepää. Last chance to win a spot in the national line up is at Norwegian Championships in Steinkjer.
