Twenty Swedish athletes lined up for the last World Cup before Christmas
Sweden is sending twenty skiers to compete at the last FIS Cross-Country World Cup before Christmas, that takes place in Rogla, Slovenia.
Sweden's national coaches Joakim Abrahamsson and Rikard Grip have lined up 11 men and 9 ladies for the weekend races at Rogla that will be featuring free technique sprint and 10/15 km Classic Mass Start.
Defending Sprint World Cup champion Emil Joensson enetered into new season with a bang and claimed third place in sprint free in Davos on Sunday. Joensson was forced to start the seasonlater due to injury. “So the entire day kept going fantastically well. Although I was a bit timid and didn't trust my capacity when the Russian ran off in the final," Joensson wrote on his website.
At the end of the day Sweden celebrated second and third places thanks to Peterson and Joensson. "Congratulations to Teodor who did a great race as well as to Robin, Johan Edin, Jesper Modin and Anton Lindblad," Joensson wrote.
On the upcoming weekend Swedish sprint squad will get another chance to fight in Rogla. Free technique sprins are scheduled on Saturday.
