Stage 4 of the FIS Ski Tour Canada in Quebec City featured the 10 km and 15 km free technique pursuit competitions.  Heidi Weng of Norway began the day just 11 seconds ahead of her teammate Therese Johaug in the overall Tour standings and now leaves Quebec with a 5.1 second lead heading into stage 5.  Johaug quickly closed the time gap and moved into the lead but Weng was able to match her pace and out sprint Johaug into the finish by just 0.1 seconds.  With 15, 10, 5 seconds bonus given to the top 3 at the finish Weng kept the bib with that 5.1 seconds. In third place was another Norwegian with Astrid Uhrenholdt Jacobsen +1:05.2 back.

On the men's side Sergey Ustiugov of Russia got his fourth consecutive podium of the Ski Tour and remains the Tour leader as the circus moves to Canmore for stage 5-8.  Ustiugov extended his Tour lead with bonus seconds to 22.7 second over Petter Northug Jr. of Norway.  Northug skied half of the competition with his teammate Emil Iversen but skied away to try and get Ustiugov but in the end finished almost the exact time that he started behind him for the day.  Iversen hung on for third place +1:02.2 behind.  He now sits +1:22.2 back from Ustiugov in the overall Tour standings.  World Cup Overall leader Martin Johnsrud Sundby of Norway recorded the fastest time of the day but still sits over two minutes back in the Tour standings.

Heidi Weng, NOR
It was a very good race. When Therese caught me she had a very high speed and I tried to stay with her. It was amazing to follow her. On the last hill I knew I was strong in the last meters. But it was very close. It is fun to win.

Therese Johaug, NOR
I tried to get a gap on Heidi but she was very strong. I pushed myself. It was a great day and beautiful conditions in Québec.

Astrid Uhrenholdt Jacobsen, NOR
It was a perfect day, great track and snow. The crowds were amazing. I am happy for 3rd place. I gave it all what I had. I am happy with 3rd place.

Sergey Ustiugov, RUS
It was a very hard race today. I was little bit afraid that Northug and Iversen are coming closer. I am happy I could keep the pace high and that I could go for victory. I picked up some bonus seconds and that is good as well.

Petter Northug Jr. NOR
Emil and I had a good speed after the start. I felt good and tried to attack Ustiugov but in the last lap it was just about not losing seconds on Ustiugov.

Emil Iversen, NOR
We had a good strategy before the race but then I ran out of power and it was a big battle for me to go to the finish. But I am very happy to be number 3 today and in the Ski Tour. The Ski Tour is in the halfway and there are still many kilometres to go. I have to focus on the next stages
