Junior athletes compete “Clean as Snow”
The participants of the FIS Nordic World Junior Ski Championships in Liberec (CZE) took an active part in the educational campaign “Clean as Snow” launched by the International Ski Federation in partnership with the World Anti-Doping Agency in 2011. The Clean as Snow campaign is FIS’ message to Say NO! to Doping in the interest of Fair and Clean sport.
In Liberec, participants were given informative anti-doping leaflets and also branded buffs. Athletes were eager to carry the message of clean sport out to the public and numerous ones proudly wore the “Clean as Snow” Buffs while training and competing in Liberec.
The event was accompanied by a large doping control programme. All Cross-Country and Nordic Combined athletes had to undergo blood testing before their first start, and numerous athletes were selected for In-Competition doping controls.
